Since the second Maddie walked into our home, she has LOVED my girls' squirrel stuffy toy. She tosses it in the air, catches it and in general puts on quite a display of greyhound agility while playing kill the squirrel in the middle of the living room while everyone - including my two younger greys, look on in awe. Little did we know that all of this living room play might just be practice in the event she ever gets her paws on a real one in the back yard.
This afternoon, Maddie was tortured by her fluffy tailed nemesis, through our living room window today for over an hour. She even dragged the stuffy to the window and shook it at the squirrels, I guess to show them that they were lucky that piece of glass was between them. She has figured out where the squirrels hang out in our backyard and she stalks them for us regularly - which is really fun to see.
Despite her love for fluffy tailed, rat-liked creatures, she gets along fine with my three cats in the house.

That's one pretty squirrel hunter, and I have the feeling those little furry guys in the trees better watch out for little Miss Maddie!

Oh, Heather I just am in love with this dog. No adoptions right now, according to Newt. But, I've talked him into being a foster parent. Slick, from Alpharetta, should be arriving soon!
